After-School and Group Metoring Programs
|
Partners has recently started an After School program targeting kids who could use a positive outlet after school. Together with 4H we have developed a program that provides students with academic assistance, a 4H membership, and group mentoring.
Academic assistance is the core function of The After School Program. Partners has hired two amazing educators that are available at all times for academic assistance. The teachers keep a close watch on student’s assignments, grades and assist in building organizational skills. It is our hope that monitoring student involvement and working with them consistently, will lead to greater success in school and ultimately in life.
One of the perks for being a part of The After School Program is a membership with 4H. Nadine Henry, who is in charge of working with 4H youth, has been collaborating with Partners to implement programs that will benefit youth. Nadine joins The After School Program twice a week bringing a plethora of activities, field trips and rare opportunities for kids to indulge in. |

Partners involvement is specific in enriching children’s lives and helping grow the spirit within. Partners Case Manager Jesse Izquierdo joins the After School Program once to twice a week facilitating team building activities, experiential education and implementing group mentoring into the program. This piece is essential in exposing youth to positive role models and creating space to grow, communicate freely and just have fun.
The program is open to 5th through 8th graders inGunnison. The program takes place everyday after school from 4:00-5:30 at the Fred Field Heritage Center in the 4H building.
If you have any questions or interested in getting involved please feel free to contact the Partners office.
